The economy of fossil fuels undergone tremendous shift in recent years which partly is caused by environmental concerns that led major oil and gas companies to forecast energy transition scenario eliminating fossil fuels from energy mix within a generation. This presentation is trying to explore whether digital and smart technologies could extend the life of hydrocarbons.
Omer Ahmed, graduate accounting from Oxford Brookes University and MSc in oil and gas management at Coventry University. The MSc Oil and Gas Management course at Coventry University. Designed to provide understanding of the fundamentals of oil and gas management including the processes, drivers, threat and opportunities related to the management of the energy and hydrocarbon industry and to enable students to evaluate and apply a variety of skills, policies, operational strategies and techniques within the context of oil and gas management.

In the beginning of the presentation there will be a brief overview of the two main areas where AI is currently applied in the oil and gas sector: operations and research. This presentation makes the point that market research is the area where the next big push of AI in oil and gas will take place. It will broaden the application of AI: from an operational instrument in exploration and field management to an analytical tool for corporate strategy and planning.
Peter Kaznacheev is Lead Economist at Khaznah Strategies Ltd. and Senior Research Fellow at Kings College London European Centre for Energy and Resource Security. His previous career includes upstream business development at BP and economic analysis with the World Bank. Masters Degree in International Economics from the Johns Hopkins University and PhD in political science from the Moscow State University. Khaznah Strategies Ltd. is a London-based consulting and market research firm that advances the use of artificial intelligence and other innovative analytical tools across the energy industry. It focuses on such areas as big data applications for market research; the use of imagery from satellites and drones; economic and geopolitical risks that affect commodity markets.

Moving from Data Science Theory to Practice, Dr Emanuele Moscato, Developer, ASI Data Science
Artificial Intelligence is no longer the distant future and is no longer confined to research laboratories. Rapid advances in the field mean that the benefits of AI can now be harnessed by real businesses, to solve real problems, with real impacts. We would love to inspire the audience to move from data science theory to practice and show how easy and powerful machine learning is. We will be sharing a few data science case studies followed by a live project coded from scratch
Dr Emanuele Moscato is a data scientist and developer advocate at ASI. During his fellowship, he used neural networks and other machine learning techniques to predict the spikes in the imbalance price of electricity, while also working on the communication and business sides of the data science practice. A passionate communicator, he assists the growth team in showing the potential of machine learning to audiences ranging from business executives to data scientists, in a constant effort to bring the community the best possible tools to manipulate the ever-growing amount of data that gets generated every day. During his PhD in Theoretical Physics at Queen Mary University of London, he applied string theory to describe black hole physics and try to shed a light on how nature works at the most fundamental level.
