Women in Energy

Women account for half of the world’s working-age population, so gender inequality is not only a pressing moral and social issue but also an economic challenge. After decades of progress towards equal social and economic opportunities for women, the gender gap remains large, especially in the energy sector.

Women in Energy (WiE) is a subcommittee of the SPE London Board run by volunteers that has the objective of promoting gender balance in the energy sector.

The subcommittee organises several networking events throughout the year and an annual seminar where leaders of the industry get together to discuss how to achieve gender balance at corporate level, starting within the personal sphere of influence.

The London 𝗦𝗣𝗘 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗘𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 Seminar returns on 𝟭𝟳 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 at London South Bank University, bringing together 150+ professionals to explore gender balance, leadership, and career development under this year’s theme: 💫 𝙎𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙚 & 𝙀𝙢𝙥𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙋𝙤𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙗𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮 💫

This volunteer‑run, not‑for‑profit event is 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽. We keep tickets low to ensure accessibility for early‑career professionals and students, and we welcome a diverse audience from across the energy sector.
