Progress to net zero for oil and gas companies

Book online

The London SPE Net Zero Gaia committee is pleased to be restarting the Net Zero webinar series, with the first in the series providing a fascinating examination of the progress that oil and gas companies are making towards Net Zero.

Dr Amanda Turner is a principal consultant at sustain:able, where she supports customers across the O&G industry and beyond in their Net Zero and wider ESG goals. She will discuss challenges in the progression to Net Zero for O&G companies including:
• How climate litigation is on the rise, and how companies are responding to show their goals and ambitions can be supported by actions
• The increasing reporting requirements on companies with drivers from governments, lenders and stakeholders
• Emissions reductions versus maximising economic recovery – observations from the North Sea, OGA Plan, early CoP challenge, cost justification for emission reduction activities/new technologies
• Increase in ‘missed’ Net Zero targets – how companies are changing their ambitions and the implications of those changes
• Which emissions-reduction technologies are considered and implemented across the O&G industry
• How companies can get started
